Project is slowly moving forward. New hull design is easier and faster to build compared to the previous designs, also involves less foam wastage. Going to continue to work on the interior layout of the hulls, to make them as practical as possible.
Comfort is relative isn't it ? People build their super comfortable dreamboats for many years and end up sailing them just a few days/year for different reasons.
This blog will follow the design and build process of a 10.4 metre sailing catamaran. I am not an experienced sailor or designer so this could end up in a total disaster, so if you are curious how this will turn out stay tuned.
The boat will be an open deck lightweight catamaran built on a small budget, big enough for relatively safe offshore crusing but small enough in order to be affordable, minimum accomodations and hopefully very simple layout for easy singlehanded sailing. Any help and tips are apreciated, the whole process will probably take from 3-5 years, hopefully no more, I intend to start the build next spring, wish me luck.
The boat keep getting simpler, and less "comfortable" :-)
ReplyDeleteWhen do we go cruising the magellan strait?
